VISION

The SIEWI will be a focal point for the promotion of Sathya Sai Education in Human Values (SSEHV).

MISSION

Our mission is to promote an understanding and application of the principles underlying the Sathya Sai Education in Human Values Program which nurtures the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual health of children, so that they:

  • are encouraged to appreciate the five basic human values of Truth, Right Action, Peace, Love and Non- Violence as essential to development of character
  • learn about the cultures, customs, and religions of other people in order to appreciate the underlying unity of all humanity and foster mutual understanding
  • acquire decision-making skills which will facilitate development of moral learning
  • develop a sense of responsibility for the consequences of their actions and act with regard for the rights, life and dignity of all persons
  • act consistently with the stated human values in thought, word and deed
  • develop self-discipline and self-confidence necessary to promote the fulfilment of their potential
  • develop a caring attitude towards all forms of life and value the need for conservation and protection of the environment
  • develop the value skills needed for personal, family, community, national, and world harmony.
  • The SIEWI will ensure that Sathya Sai educational Institutions in the West Indies, both government- assisted and private, function in accordance with the teachings and principles of Sri Sathya Sai Baba
  • Offer teacher training in EDUCARE principles to professional teachers and other persons interested in propagation of the five basic human values in communities
  • Provide parenting workshops based on the five basic human values
  • Provide Sathya Sai Education in Human Values to communities: children, youth, parents.
  • Develop resource materials which reflect the core principles of EDUCARE
  • Undertake research activities aimed at understanding/evaluating the impact of the five human values and ‘human excellence’ on attitudes towards self and others.
